Bugaboo Stamps & Catch the Bug: 01/30/2010

Jodie at Bugaboo Stamps and the DT at Catch the Bug are issuing a challenge to you today - Make a card or project using on-traditional Valentine's Day colors. That means no red, and no pink. I also challenged myself to make a card using traditional Valentine's Day colors, but not a traditional image (i.e., Cupid).

But before we get to my card samples, I simply have to ask what on God's Green Earth is up with all the names of these events? I've read "dare," "challenge," and even "throwdown." I mean REALLY, what could possibly be next - Gauntlet? Cage fight? Yo' mama? Hmmm. . .I'm going to wait until someone's brave enough to have a color combo "bitch slap," and then I'm going to be all over it like white on rice!

Talk amongst yourselves. . .;)

Bugaboo Stamps: Cupcakes

WHEW!!!I made it, literally and figuratively. . .;)

Do you remember me telling you earlier today about Crafty Creations celebrating their one-year anniversary with a birthday blog hop? Since Bugaboo Stamps is sponsoring one of the DT members, I wanted to send a little "Happy Birthday" also to our friends there.

And speaking of challenges, don't forget that tomorrow Bugaboo Stamps is hosting one of our blog, Catch the Bug. You could TWO, FOUR, or even SEVEN free digtital images!!! Who doesn't want to score for something that they're going to be doing tomorrow anyway. . .making cards? ;)

No trembler in the world's storm-troubled sphere:
I see Heaven's glories shine,
And faith shines equal, arming me from Fear.

No sooner have you downloaded one free image from Bugaboo Stamps than SHAZAM, Jodie's posted another Freebie Friday in her store! Make that TWO free images!!!

Speaking of free images, tip-tap, clackety-clack your way over to Crafty Creations because they're celebrating their one-year anniversary with a birthday blog hop and celebrations challenge. Bugaboo Stamps is sponsoring one of the DT members (No, I'm NOT going to tell you which one!) with SEVEN free images (No, I'm NOT going to tell you what they are either!). The challenge ends Friday, 01/30/2010, at midnight, CST.

Bugaboo Stamps: Vases | Hummingbird Vase

Nature. . .GET IT THE HELL OFF OF ME!!!

Now that we got that out of the way, you have a better understanding of how mind-boggling my choice was for this week's Bugaboo Stamps' Oldie, but a Goody Thursday card on our challenge blog, Catch the Bug.

SERIOUSLY, if a hummingbird came within 100 yards of me I would. . .I would. . .OK, I can't come up with anything funny enough right now so you're just going to have to fill in the blanks. . .;)

On a less ridiculous note, I had Tanya, one of my fellow Bugaboo Stamps DT members, in mind when I made this card. As I've mentioned before, she makes such lovely, feminine cards that I wanted to try and do the same. I segued from oldie to vintage to girly. I'm not sure how in the hell hummingbirds got involved, but there it is. . .;)

Bugaboo Stamps: 5.5" x 5.5" Square Envelope Tutorial

I love to make cards of differing sizes - A2, 4-Bar, and square from 3" x 3" all the way up to 5.5" x 5.5". However, in my enthusiasm I often forget the itty-bitty details like what on God's Green Earth am I supposed to mail this Godzilla-sized card in?!?!? Somehow, a 3X recycled padded envelope just doesn't have that "care enough to send the very best" ring to it. . .;)

And that's where Jackie, my fellow Bugaboo Stamps DT member, comes in! She's got a tutorial on her blog, Paper Moments, that's going to show you and me how to create an envelope for a 5.5" x 5.5" card. SUH-WEET - I can't wait to try this!!! And you shouldn't either. . .Why?. . .Because I said so, that's why? ;)

While you're there, tell her how great her nails look!

NOTE TO SELF: Schedule manicure before I have to photograph my tutorial. ;)

Bugaboo Stamps: In Love | Piggyback

Geez Louise, aren't you sick to death of hearing from me lately?!?!?

Do NOT answer that. . .;)

Maybe this will make you feel a little bit better: Bugaboo Stamps is releasing new digital images today!!!

By now you've probably figured out that although I love ankle-biters, they give me a bit of a rash. But  honestly, even I couldn't resist these super-duper, cutie-pie boy/girl images. I used In Love | Piggyback for my card today and I think it came out pretty damn cool. . .;) BTW, modesty is for people that don't have anything to be proud of. . .;)

Just wait until you see the other images in this line and the cards that the rest of the Bugaboo Stamps DT made with them. On second thought, don't wait - Go take a look at their blogs now!!!

Bugaboo Stamps & Catch the Bug: 01/15/2010 (cont.)

I'm afraid that one of the runner-ups never contacted me . . .sniff-sniff. . .hiccup. . .WAAAH! :( Consequently, I had to select another winner (generated by entering the number of comments at Random.org, and excluding those by Bugaboo Stamps DT memebers) of my blog candy celebrating Bugaboo Stamps' first blog hop.

Although it's not the grand prize, I hope it's worth the continued support of Bugaboo Stamps. . .;) The winners is:

43-PAPIERPAPIER

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Send your 411 to huera90@gmail.com, and I'll make sure that your package goes in the mail as soon as I can hot-foot to the post office.

In the event that I don't hear from the winner, I'll draw another name(s) next Monday, 02/01/2010.

Bugaboo Stamps: ABaC Monday (01/25/2010)

Tink created a darling weight loss gift bag on her blog today using Bugaboo Stamps. Hmm. . .I took it as directed, but when I turned around my considerably padded ass was right where I left it. . .DAMN!!!

And Melissa has an absolutely fabulous tutorial on how to dye buttons and clear dots that I can't wait to try. The cards that she made using her altered embellishments and Bugaboo Stamps images are simply to-die-for. I tell her all the time that the details on her cards are simply a feast for the eyes.

Bugaboo Stamps & Catch the Bug: 01/25/2010

Actually, it's now National Belly Laugh + 1 Day. I made my card, I sent it to the Bugaboo Stamps DT coordinator, but I'm afraid that I forgot to schedule my post. . ."BOO". . ."HISS". . ."YOU SUCK!" Yes, I know, and I ALMOST feel bad about it. . .;)

My card is the perfect example of why I should NEVAH-EVAH step outside my comfort zone. I was trying to avoid using neutral card stock and Copic markers, but all I ended up with is smudged Stickles and scraped cardstock. . .SIGH!!!

If you haven't already, hop on over to our challenge blog, Catch the Bug, to see all of the other tee-hee-make-me-pee cards that the Bugaboo Stamps DT have created just to make you smile, and hopefully laugh.
