Bugaboo Stamps: Bird Greetings | Happy Bird-Day

Ya'll will probably be happy to know that after a solid year of bitching, whining, moaning, and complaining about photos, I've finally invested (if you'd call $30.00 and free S&H an investment) in a light box. My fellow DT member Michele turned me on to this sweetheart of a deal, and I'm so excited!

Maybe then my cute little chickadee can come out of the shadows because this week's Freebie Friday image at Bugaboo Stamps deserves to be in the spotlight. . .:D

Bugaboo Stamps: Ava & Deacon | Ava Heart

Jodie originally wanted to call her latest characters Ava & Edward, but I was like "No! You have to save the name Edward  for the vampire/werewolf/Twilight set of images that you're going to draw!"

Now that I have your attention. . .;)

Let me introduce to you Bugaboo Stamps' latest characters  - Ava & Deacon. Since we couldn't use the name Edward, I suggested Deacon instead - I have no idea what inspired that choice, but it seemed a suitably neo-vintage-y name akin to Edward.

Am I wrong? Probably - I'm extremely "challenged" when it comes to popular culture. . .;)

The Crafty Hos: Babies Challenge

Welcome to 2011! My name is Rae Anne and I'll be your. . .{ahem}. . ."HOstess" for the first post of the new year here at It's Clever, But Is It Art?

Coffee, tea, or me?

Or, all of the above + a bear claw? ;)

This year at The Crafty Hos we were told that each HO would have to volunteer to set all of the challenges in a given month. I'm not sure how you can be told to volunteer, but I digress. . .yet again. I "volunteered" for January 2011 (to get it over with) and chose "babies" as our theme challenge because the new year is always anthropomorphized as a newborn (and because I was too lazy to come up with something more clever. . .;)

Supplies: Bugaboo Stamps image, Stampin' Up! card stock, A Muse Art Stamps card stock, The Paper Company card stock, Cherry Arte paper, Prismacolor markers, ??? ribbon, Mark Richards embellishments, Jen del Muro sketch.
