Bugaboo Stamps: A Little Bit of Oz | Tin Man

Y'all Yankees up North are probably going to laugh your collective asses off but we here in Austin, TX got a SNOW DAY!!! You know that God has a sense of humor because it occurred on the day (Fridays) that I telecommute from home. . .;) But it was still a bit cool (no pun intended) and naughty (because I should have been working) to snuggle up next to my husband Lance and sleep in. . .;)

And speaking of miracles, meteorological and otherwise. . .

The Miracles

PS. EEK. . .ear worm!!! ;)

Bugaboo Stamps: Skelekinz | Cupcake Stroller

I was standing in line at Starbucks (Where else?), when someone passed by with a phone or MP3 player turned up. The song was "Pictures of You" by The Cure.

Have you ever been going about the business of living when something (a sight, a sound, a smell) takes you completely out of where you are deep into a memory? The whole experience is so visceral that you feel like you're right there seeing, feeling, being in that moment?

And then the barista asks for your order, and it's suddenly over. You're confused, you're drained, and despite the fact that that the memory is a happy one, you still feel loss and sadness?

What any of that has to do with Bugaboo Stamps' new release is simply beyond me, but there it is. Hmm, perhpas it's why I chose to create a very black, (very eeeky-shrieky, spooky-kooky, vampy-trampy. . .;)) project with our new Skelekinz set rather that our new Skye's Bears collection. . .;)

Critter Sketch Challenge: Guest Designer (01/31/2011)

I'm not sure if y'all are aware of this, but there's actually a wrong way. . .

. . .and a little something Critter Sketch Challenge Blog likes to call "the right way" to do things. . .;)

I was so incredibly excited to be the guest designer (GD) for Critter Sketch Challenge Blog today that I jumped right into my assignment without. . .reading. . .it. . .first. . .See Exhibit A.

When I completed my assignment I patted myself on the back, sent it to Melanie and April, and created a "Guest Designer" label for my posts because I was going to need a way to keep track of all of the offers that were going to start rolling in. . .;)

And then I read the directions.

#$*%!!!

I was supposed to use this sketch!

Do you remember those idiotic tests in school with a list of questions, the first of which was "Read the entire test first," and the last of which was "Don't answer any of the questions. Put your pencil down." Had you followed the directions, you wouldn't have had to bother figuring out the stupid question about two trains traveling at different speeds. And you wouldn't have felt like a complete and total moron when one of your classmates sat smugly while you desperately tried to remember the freakin' capitol of Finland!

Ah, the good ol' days. . .;)

But, I can be taught. . .See Exhibit B. . . :D
